Inside Google and Wise's cross-border payments push

Google Pay seeks partners with an innovative, mobile-based mindset. Cross-border fintech company Wise (formerly Transferwise) fit the bill, and what followed was an intensive four-month process to build a robust and secure payments service.

The first two payments corridors Google Pay supports are sending money from the U.S. to India and the U.S. to Singapore, with more markets following soon.

Surprisingly, one of the biggest development challenges was creating an intuitive path for consumers to initiate a cross-border transaction.
