Kristo Käärmann, CEO, Wise
Kristo is the Co-founder and CEO of Wise, the global tech company building the best way to move money around the world. Prior to starting Wise, Kristo was a management consultant with Deloitte Consulting & PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He worked with European banks and insurers to modernise their processes and systems. Stunned by their inefficiency, he teamed up with Taavet Hinrikus, then Skype's director of strategy, to develop an entirely new system for moving money across borders.
Nilan Peiris, CPO, Wise
Nilan is Chief Product Officer at Wise, where he leads on growth across channels including product and platform.
Prior to Wise Nilan was VP Growth at HouseTrip, in charge of scaling the company’s growth in the European market. He’s also worked as Chief Marketing Technology Officer at Holiday Extras, where he was responsible for all areas of technology, marketing and customer acquisition. Nilan also advises a number of early stage startups on growth and getting to traction.
Calvin Ng, Alternate Chief Executive, ZA Bank
Calvin Ng is Alternate Chief Executive and General Manager, Retail Banking at ZA Bank, Hong Kong’s first virtual bank established by ZA International, the international arm of ZhongAn Online P&C Insurance Co., Ltd. (HKEX Stock code: 6060). He is also an Executive Director of the bank.
As one of the founding members of ZA Bank, Calvin has contributed his broad banking experience in formulating the innovation and digital strategy and product roadmap, as well as enhancing customer journeys, to the development of the bank. He played a key role in the bank’s major milestones, from licence application, official launch, to growing as a leading Hong Kong virtual bank in terms of personal deposits and loan balance with over 600,000 users today.
Calvin currently manages the retail business for the bank, including strategic planning, product roadmap and go-to-market strategies.Prior to joining ZA Bank in 2018, Calvin spent 11 years at DBS Bank (Hong Kong) with extensive experience across digital banking, credit card, payment and marketing.
Rolland Setiawan, Vice President, Remittance Solutions, Bank Mandiri
Rolland Setiawan, Vice President of Remittance Solutions at Bank Mandiri. Mandiri is one of the largest banks in Indonesia, providing a range of financial solutions from wholesale to retail segments. Throughout his 19-year professional experience in the banking industry, Rolland contributed in several roles at Mandiri, especially in retail segments, such as consumer loans, payroll solutions, micro-funding, individual banking, and remittance. Rolland has a passion for innovation. He has a pivotal role in several critical projects at Mandiri, such as Digital Payroll Solutions and Core Banking Modernizations. For the last two years, he has focused on developing digital remittance solutions. This project launched the "Transfer Valas" feature with Wise in the "Livin’ by Mandiri" App, offering better, faster, cheaper, and more transparent outgoing remittances to serve 21 millions Livin' users.
Richard Heeley, CIO, Macquarie's Banking and Financial Services Group
Richard Heeley is CIO for Macquarie’s Banking and Financial Services group, leading all aspects of technology for the Personal Banking, Business Banking and Wealth Management business areas. He has 25 years’ experience working with JP Morgan, Barclays, Nationwide Building Society in the UK, then Macquarie in Australia. Richard has a strong interest in new technology, innovation and delivery in the financial services sector. 98% of Macquarie’s workload is now on cloud and they have consistently invested in digitising and automating back-office operations. The company has a firm focus on digital experience with one of the best consumer banking apps in market.
Steve Naudé, Managing Director, Wise Platform
Steve Naudé is Managing Director of Wise Platform, Wise’s infrastructure offering for banks, fintechs and enterprises around the world looking to offer or improve cross-border payments for their customers. Wise Platform allows other companies to leverage Wise’s global payments network and instantly offer the best way to send, receive, and manage money internationally directly to their own customers. Today, Wise Platform is live with more than 70 banks and enterprises across the world, including Monzo, Google Pay, Ramp and established banks such as Bank Mandiri and GMO Aozora Bank Ltd. Previously Steve has worked on Wise’s international expansion, as well as directly connecting Wise to payment schemes such as UK Faster Payments and Swift.
Shirish Wadivkar, Global Head - Wholesale payments & Trade Strategy, SWIFT
Shirish joined Swift in 2022 as Global Head – Wholesale Payments & Trade Strategy, based at Singapore. Shirish has over 24 years of experience and the last 16 years in Payments across retail, corporate, and financial institutions.
At Swift he is responsible for the definition of “Why” for Wholesale Payments & Trade, an area that is both, core today and for the future of global commerce across the ecosystem Swift serves. Wholesale Payments & Trade is an integrated agenda that covers core payment products for B2x payments and corporate treasury; trade standards, digitisation, and trade platforms; payment market infrastructures, and marketplaces. Shirish represents Swift on the ICC Digital Standards Initiative Industry Advisory Board and is also on the Board of Directors of Swift India, a Swift joint venture with leading banks in India.
Bharath Sattanathan, Partner, McKinsey & Company
Bharath is a partner with McKinsey’s Singapore office, where he leads the firm’s work with payments in Asia, and is part of the banking, sustainability, and digital leadership teams. Over the past 15 years, Bharath has served a broad range of global, regional, and local institutions across banking, payments, fintech, wealth management, technology, and private equity on multiple cross-functional topics related to corporate strategy and M&A, sustainability, innovation, growth, and transformation. He has experience in building and scaling new ventures and has extensively worked across several markets in Asia, including most markets in Southeast Asia, Australia, India, and Greater China.
Prior to joining McKinsey, Bharath held leadership roles at two other global management consulting firms where he focused on financial services and digital banking across Asia–Pacific.
Nish Dharmaratne, Managing Director, GTS Product Global Transaction Services, Westpac
Nish Dharmaratne is the Managing Director, Global Head of Product for Global Transaction Banking business at Westpac Institutional Bank based in Australia. In her current role she leads the GTS Product organisation and lead both end to end product management function and product transformation programs across multiple product lines. Her key lines of products service across the Westpac Group include Liquidity, Payments & Digital Solutions. Nish has over 26 years of experience in banking across Australia and Asia. Prior to Westpac, she led GTS business in Singapore for Citibank. She has held various roles with Citi in APAC leading regional businesses in Liquidity, Payments, Investments, Client Solutions and Relationship Management.
She has a Bachelor of Banking & Finance from Monash University, Australia, Postgraduate from Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK & Master of Business Administration from University of Jay, Colombo. She is a Board member for Australian Payment Network (AusPayNet) & Women in Payments, Australia & New Zealand. She has also completed the High Potential Leadership program at Harvard University & Women In Leadership program at UCLA, USA. Accredited with Risk Management credentials from Deakin University. She is a Fellow at FINSIA & Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK. She has been selected as the Top50 Talent by Women in Management-International in 2023 for Leadership in Banking.
Sriram Muthukrishnan, Managing Director, Group Head of Product Management, Global Transaction Services, DBS
Sriram joined DBS in 2018 as Managing Director, Global Transaction Services. His current remit as Group Head of
Product Management covers cash and liquidity management, enterprise-wide payments, trade finance and supply chain finance solutions offered by the Bank.With more than 20 years of banking experience spanning across several key international financial hubs, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai and India, Sriram spearheads DBS digital product initiatives across the region. He is responsible for leading overall business performance, strategy and product innovation across the bank’s suite of transaction banking solutions.
Since joining DBS, Sriram has led the transformation of its trade finance business into one that is fast growing, digital, innovative and market leading as well as the launch of several innovative payments solutions including DBS Globesend. Sriram is passionate about driving diversity and inclusion in the workplace, besides developing innovative solutions to serve corporates, large and small. Prior to joining DBS, Sriram held several senior leadership roles in global banks such as HSBC and Standard Chartered covering areas such as corporate banking, transaction banking and trade finance.
Alex Trott, Managing Director, Financial Services Banking Lead Australia, Accenture
Alex Trott is a Managing Director in Financial Services and the Australia Banking Industry Lead. He is also the lead for a major client relationship, and has been based in Sydney since 2018 following 10 years based in Hong Kong. Alex Trott has more than 24 years of experience in the banking and financial services industries. His expertise is in wealth management and retail banking, customer channel solutions, operating model and business architecture design.
He has led large scale transformation programmes as well as programme mobilisation including business case validation and solution development. He has also set-up innovation programmes and future channel laboratories for clients to help them better interact with their customers. In his time with Accenture, Alex has held a number of roles in the Financial Services Industry Practice. He was responsible for the Retail Banking Branch and Channel practice in the UK. Alex has also held positions in a number of markets across Europe and Asia Pacific, including UK, Ireland, Australia, Thailand and Hong Kong.
Surendra Chaplot, Head of Global Product, Wise
Surendra Chaplot is Head of Product of Wise Account. He joined Wise in 2018 as a senior member of the Product team and is based in the APAC hub office in Singapore. Prior to Wise, Surendra co-founded two start-ups early in his career and has extensive experience leading product teams in tech companies across India and Southeast Asia.
Till Wirth, Head of Product, Wise Platform
Till leads the Product team to build a number of exciting solutions for banks and non-banks alike.
He has 8 years of experience designing and implementing payment solutions across a range of companies. Starting out at the UK Government, Till spent almost 5 years building the government’s payment platform. From there, he spent 3 years at TrueLayer, a global open banking platform, before joining Wise Platform as Head of Product.
Magali Van Bulck, Head of Policy, Wise
Magali Van Bulck is the Head of Policy (EMEA) at Wise, having joined the company in 2016. In her time at Wise, she has been heavily focused on improving transparency in cross-border payments, lowering the cost of remittances and providing a pathway for non-banks to join the financial infrastructure. She sits on the board of the International Association of Money Transfer Networks (IAMTN) and PayBelgium, and founded Accept My IBAN, a platform to report IBAN discrimination which has successfully put this consumer protection issue on the political agenda.
Tony Stylianou, Head of Pricing, Wise
Anthony leads the Pricing team for Wise Platform. He is responsible for developing the pricing framework and product capabilities, whilst ensuring the business grows sustainably.
Prior to joining Wise, Anthony spent time at Amazon and Expedia, with focus on D2C and B2C growth, within commercially strategic roles across marketplace and retail divisions.
For the last 4 years, Anthony has led Pricing teams at WorldRemit, the money transfer service provider, and Adidas, the fashion retailer.
Diane Artore, Head of APAC Implementation, Wise Platform
Diane is the implementation lead for APAC at Wise Platform. She is responsible for delivering the integration projects with our partners in the region, effectively connecting them to Wise’s global payment network.
Prior to Wise, Diane spent 13 years implementing leading capital market solutions for Tier 1 banks in APAC markets (Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Australia, Thailand).
Sean Koh, Implementation Director, Wise Platform
Sean is a Implementation Director for Wise Platform. He works with Wise Platform partners in the Asia Pacific region to execute and deliver their integrations. His experience with new market expansion has led to the successful delivery of high profile partners such as Bank Mandiri in Indonesia, Tiger Brokers in Singapore and ZA Bank in Hong Kong.
Prior to Wise, he successfully launched local e-wallets for a leading superapp in multiple countries in Southeast Asia. In his free time, Sean is a qualified diver and enjoys staying up to date with the latest developments in mobile gadgets and technology
Terence Lau, Implementation Director, Wise Platform
Terence is a Implementation Director at Wise Platform. Based out of Singapore, he works with bank partners and other solution providers across APAC to bring cross-border payment solutions to market and deliver seamless integrations. With his project delivery experience and penchant for resolving complex issues, Terence has helped launch high profile partners in the region such as GMO Aozora Net Bank in Japan.
Prior to his time at Wise, he was the industry project lead at MAS for enabling Non-Bank FI's access to Singapore's real-time payments infrastructure, FAST and PayNow.
Sandhya Sriram, Head of Speed Analytics, Wise
Sandhya is a Senior Product Analyst working in the Spend (or Cards) Team at Wise. Her key focus area is using data to improve Spend Customer Onboarding experience as well as Spend Global Coverage, which involves analysing customer habits.
Sandhya has been featured in 'Women in Data' and is passionate about getting more women into the field of data analytics to help build gender representation. Prior to Wise, Sandhya worked in the transportation industry in Singapore.
